An investigation is underway in the Town of Ulster following the discovery of two deceased individuals at the Budget 19 motel on state Route 28. The bodies of an 83-year-old man and an 83-year-old woman, both from South Carolina, were found on Thursday (April 2).
According to the Ulster County Sheriff’s Office, the deaths may have been suicides, although this has not been confirmed. Lt. Collin Reynolds stated, "We do not believe anything is suspicious in nature at this time." The Sheriff's Office received a welfare check request at approximately 8:20 a.m., leading to the discovery of the bodies.
The investigation is ongoing, and the names of the deceased are being withheld pending notification of next of kin. Authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward.
