Kingston Man Faces Charges in Stabbing Incident

A 23-year-old man from Kingston has been arrested and charged with two counts of assault as violent felonies following a stabbing incident. The incident occurred on Saturday (April 18) in the Kings Mall parking lot at 1200 Ulster Avenue, Town of Ulster.

The suspect, identified as Mark Olsson IV, was also charged with misdemeanor criminal possession of a weapon. According to the Mid-Hudson News, Kingston Police responded to a report of an assault at HealthAlliance Hospital, where they found the victim with serious injuries from a stab wound to the chest.

The investigation revealed that the stabbing occurred during a physical altercation between Olsson and the victim. The case was handed over to the Ulster Police Detective Division, who arrested Olsson. He was subsequently sent to Ulster County Jail with bail set at $50,000, as reported by the Daily Freeman.

The legal proceedings for Olsson are expected to continue as he faces serious charges related to the incident.
