VIDEO: U.S. Copyright Office Denies Registration Of 'Carlton Dance'

The U.S. Copyright Office is denying to register actor Alfonso Ribeiro's "Carlton Dance" because it is a simple dance routine. Ribeiro created the dance in 1991 as part of his work on the "Fresh Prince of Bel-Air" playing the character of Carlton. The dance became even more famous when it was recently included in the video games "Fortnite" and "NBA 2K." The actor is suing the video game makers because it allows players to have their avatars perform the Carlton Dance. Court cases are expected to proceed.
