(Plano, TX) -- J.C. Penney will no longer sell major appliances.
The struggling department store chain says the change will be effective February 28th. In a blog post yesterday, J.C. Penney also said that furniture will soon be available only online as it shifts its focus to categories like apparel, curtains and bedding.
The company noted it's making the changes "to better meet customer expectations, improve financial performance and drive profitable growth." J.C. Penney previously said it plans to close several stores this spring.
