The Mets fell to the Braves 3-1 tonight in twelve innings. Jacob deGrom squared off against former Mets pitcher Bartolo Colon and the two combined for an old-school pitchers duel.
deGrom tossed six scoreless innings. He struck out six and allowed just two hits. Colon matched him allowing a solo home run to Jay Bruce and one other hit while striking out six over six as well.
The Braves would tie the game in the seventh thanks to an RBI double from Adonis Garcia. The game would remain tied at 1 run apiece until the top of the twelfth when Matt Kemp gave the Braves a 3-1 lead on a 2-run double.
