Syndergaard Strikes Out 9 as the Mets Defeat Marlins 5-2

The Mets wrapped up their first home-stand of the season with a 5-2 win over the Miami Marlins tonight at Citi Field.

Noah Syndergaard was outstanding, he struck out nine over seven strong innings allowing just two runs on five hits. He picked up his first win of the season.

After a few slow nights with the bats the Mets offense woke up as they put up five runs tonight. Jay Bruce and Michael Conforto both hit solo home runs and Neil Walker drove in his first run of the season in the bottom of the first on an RBI single.

The Mets will head to Philly for a three-game set that kicks off Monday on WOR with Pete McCarthy and 'Mets on Deck' at 6:05 pm.
