Things continue to get worse for the New York Mets. They were defeated by the Braves 7-5 this afternoon at Citi Field, but that is not all they lost as their ace pitcher Noah Syndergaard before the game with a 'tired arm', then their all-star left fielder Yoenis Cespedes pulled up with a aggravated hamstring heading to second on a double in the bottom of the fourth.
Cespedes will undergo an MRI and the Mets are hopeful that Syndergaard will be able to pitch on Sunday against the Nationals. The Mets have now lost six in a row, ten of their last eleven, and are in last place in the NL East.
They head to Washington Friday evening for a weekend series with the first place Nationals. Jacob deGrom is the scheduled starter with coverage underway at 6:05 pm with Pete McCarthy and 'Mets on Deck'.
