The Mets avoided the rain and a loss tonight at Citi Field. Rafael Montero got the start for the Mets and really struggled. He allowed 5 runs on 7 hits over 3.2IP. The Mets trailed 7-1 heading into the bottom of the fourth. Curtis Granderson would hit a 2-run homer to cut the Miami lead to 7-3.
In the bottom of the seventh the Mets bats would strike fire as Rene Rivera drove in a run to make it 7-4, then Asdrubal Cabrera an RBI bringing the Mets to 7-5. TJ Rivera would tie the game with a 2-run double and then Wilmer Flores would walk with the bases loaded giving the Mets an 8-7 lead.
Addison Reed and Juerys Familia would pitch two scoreless innings to give the Mets a thrilling win. They will look to make it two in a row with a win tomorrow night. Coverage on WOR begins at 6:05 pm.
