The Mets bats remained hot as they scored 11 runs tonight in an 11-3 win over the Miami Marlins at Citi Field. The Mets jumped out to a quck 5-0 lead as Asrubal Cabrera, Jay Bruce, Jose Reyes, Kevin Plawecki, and Michael Conforto all drove in a 1st inning run.
Robert Gsellman would make it through five innings allowing just three runs on eight hits while striking out just two. He picked up his second win of the season.
The Mets would begin to pile on as they added three runs in the bottom of the fifth and three more in the bottom of the seventh. Jay Bruce drove in two more with a 2-run double and TJ Rivera, who had the game tying hit last night, drove in another run.
Asdrubal Cabrera left the game in the top of the third inning with an apparent thumb injury. X-rays were negative, but he will undergo an MRI on Sunday morning.
Matt Harvey will look to pitch the Mets to a sweep and their third straight series win. They've won six of their last eight. 'Mets on Deck' kicks off our coverage at 12:05 pm.
