The New York Mets will not have to see the Brewers again this season unless it is in the postseason. That may come as a relief as they lost their season finale to Milwaukee 2-1 this afternoon and finish the year (2-5) vs the Brewers.
Zack Wheeler battled through six and a third innings scattering ten hits allowing two runs while striking out six. The story today for the Mets was the lack of offense. Wilmer Flores hit a solo shot in the eighth, but the Mets only had that one run on four hits all afternoon.
They open a series with the Pirates Friday night at 7:10 pm; Coverage on WOR at 6:05 pm with Pete McCarthy live from the Citi Field Plaza.
