I think it is ridiculus that New York is now suing the Trump administration over a question in the upcoming census.
It was announced last week that the 2020 survey would ask respondents as to their citizenship status, per a request from the Justice Department. New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman joined a group of 18 other states and six cities to challenge the question as unconstitutional.
Schneiderman is once again grandstanding as this was a question that was part of the census long-form for decades. This is a legitimate question that should be included on the forms.
