I guess I was overly optimistic! The White House now says a meeting between Rod Rosenstein and President Trump is scheduled for Thursday.
Well it is about time! Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein is reportedly out.
Axios reports that Rosenstein verbally resigned to White House Chief of Staff John Kelly today. Other outlets says Rosenstein is on his way to the White House and will soon be fired. Rosenstein had denied a New York Times report that he considered wearing a wire in meetings with President Trump last year. He also denied discussing the 25th Amendment in an effort to replace the President.
NBC News reported Rosenstein was joking about wearing a wire. Those conversations reportedly occurred after Trump fired FBI Director James Comey. In my opinion, Rosenstein has been doing a bad job in overseeing the work of Special Counsel Robert Mueller, who is investigating Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election.
The investigation keeps expanding rather than focus on its original purpose. Bring this investigation to a conclusion and make the results public.
