I think the President and Defense Department are doing the right thing in increasing the number of troops going to the border. 24/7 News Source reports “up to five-thousand active duty U.S. troops will reportedly be deployed to the southern border in an effort to block a migrant caravan. According to USA Today, that's a significant increase over earlier estimates of roughly one-thousand troops being deployed.”
The caravan is still several hundred miles away from the U.S. border, and many of the migrants have rejected an offer of refugee status and jobs from Mexico. See, this says to me that most of the caravan members are not seeking asylum but instead economic opportunities. If you were seeking haven from violence you would accept the offer from Mexico.
