(Pleasant Valley, NY) --A fire this morning heavily damaged the Pleasant Valley Library.
Just before 7 this morning Pleasant Valley firefighters were called out to the library on Main Street for a report of a fire in the attic. The fire quickly went to two alarms as it spread throughout the historic wood frame building. Route 44 in that area was shut down between West Rd and North Ave., as traffic was detoured around the incident scene.
The Library is looking for volunteers to help with salvage operations: http://pleasantvalleylibrary.org/.
