Sully is a true hero. Today marks the tenth anniversary of the Miracle on the Hudson plane water landing in New York City. It was January 15th, 2009 that Captain Chesley "Sully" Sullenberger helped guide US Airways Flight 1549 into the Hudson River after a flock of geese disabled the engines moments after takeoff from LaGuardia Airport.
Here is a guy who used all of his skills and experience to make an incredible landing in a very trying situation. Many of passengers, crew members and first responders seem to agree as they gathered for an annual dinner this past weekend in Manhattan. If you ever want to see the miracle plane you can visit the Charlotte Aviation Museum in North Carolina where the plane is currently housed.
