(Washington, DC) -- Bernie Sanders leads the field of Democratic presidential candidates when it comes to fundraising so far.
The Sanders campaign said today the independent senator from Vermont raised 18-million-dollars in the first quarter from about 900-thousand donors. That puts Sanders ahead of California Senator Kamala Harris who reported raising 12-million dollars in the same period. Sanders and Harris both reported campaign donations early. Candidates have until April 15th to file their fundraising reports for the first quarter.
