Talk about jumping on the bandwagon, Governor Cuomo does it again. 24/7 New Source reports that standing along the parade route for today's ticker tape celebration for the U.S. Women's soccer team, Governor Cuomo signed a bill that would mandate equal pay for men and women soccer players in New York.
The 28 members of the U.S. women's team filed a class action lawsuit in March against their employer -- the United States Soccer Federation. They claim the USSF pays female players less than members of the U.S. men's team in violation of the U.S. Equal Pay Act. Cuomo's bill would force the federation to pay women the same salary that men make when doing business or playing games in New York.
