You may have heard me on the show this morning talking about how raising the minimum wage would cause millions of people to lose their jobs and small businesses would suffer and some would have to close up.
Despite this, 24/7 News reports, a bill raising the federal minimum wage is heading to the Senate after passing the Democratic-controlled House. The legislation would increase the national minimum wage to 15-dollars per hour over the course the next five years, by 2025.
The House voted Thursday 231 to 199 in favor of passing the legislation. The legislation would increase the national minimum pay rate per hour over the course the next five years. The current minimum wage is seven-dollars and 25-cents per hour.
