The Commerce Department says retail sales increased seven-tenths of a percent in July, after gaining only three-tenths of a percent in June. Analysts expected July's numbers to match June's. The gain is even stronger when motor vehicle sales are excluded, up one-percent last month, compared to a bump of three-tenths in June.”
